September thru December 2026!

The Genealogy Research room (aka Rod & Marty Tripp Reference Room) for the Linn Genealogical Society will be closed to the public from September 1, 2026 through December 2026 while the Albany Regional Museum is being remodeled. You can get research help via any of the following methods:

  1. Send a research query to linngensoc@gmail.com.
  2. Visit a volunteer in Studio Room 5 at the Albany Public Library (14th Ave.) Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 11am to 1pm each week while the research room is closed to the public.

The volunteer in the APL Studio Room can help you with research questions and has access to Ancestry, Newspapers.com, Fold3, and FamilySearch.

Note: Recommend you bring a flash drive for saving downloaded records as printing is not available to the volunteer.

Note: Access to FamilySearch restricted records will NOT be available from the studio room. If you need access to FamilySearch restricted records, make an appointment to visit the research room at the Albany Regional Museum.
  3. Request an appointment to visit the research room by sending an email to linngensoc@gmail.com or calling 541-791-1618. Appointments can be scheduled 11a-1pm Tuesdays & Fridays each week while the research room is closed to the public.
